Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
2 Tbsp. warm water
1 c. boiling water
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Sprinkle yeast in warm water; let stand 5 to 10 minutes to completely dissolve.
Pour boiling water over shortening and salt in large bowl.
Cool to lukewarm; stir in yeast, then add half of flour.
Beat until smooth.
Add remaining flour and again beat until smooth.
On floured board, divide dough in half and pat into rounds or oblong shapes, having edges slightly thicker to keep filling from running over during baking.
Place on greased pizza pan or cookie sheet and let rise until double in height.
