Hamburger Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger meat, browned and drained of fat
    2 medium onions, sliced up and down or chopped very coarsely
    1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans (including broth)
    1 or 2 green or red peppers, chopped
    1 (15 oz.) can whole tomatoes (including juice)
    1 small handful rice
    salt and pepper to taste
    water (enough to cover)
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients.
    Bring to boil and reduce heat slightly.
    Continue cooking about 1/2 hour.
    Add liquid to keep from sticking if necessary.
    It should be slightly soupy but more like stew.
    Serve with crackers or bread and a relish tray of pickles, carrot sticks, etc.
