Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. raisins
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. applesauce
1 c. pie apples (canned)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar gradually and mix well.
Beat the eggs into the creamed ingredients.
Add sifted dry ingredients and chopped nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
