Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. round steak or beef tenderloin
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt (or less)
dash of pepper
1 lb. mushrooms or 1 (6 oz.) can
2 Tbsp. catsup
1 c. canned beef broth
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. sour cream
1 medium onion, chopped
Preparation

Cut round steak into 4 pieces.
Place on waxed paper or board. Pound flour into it.
If you do not have a mallet, use edge of a saucer.
Cut meat into 1/2-inch strips.
Melt shortening in heavy skillet.
Brown meat.
Add soup and all other ingredients except sour cream.
Simmer slowly until meat is tender, adding more soup, if necessary.
Cook about 1 hour.
Just before serving, stir in sour cream.
Heat but do not boil.
Serves 6.
Serve over noodles or rice.
