New England Blueberry Grunt - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg and mace
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    In heavy covered 3-4 qt. saucepan cook blueberries, sugar, spices, water and lemon juice for 3 minutes over medium heat. Set aside. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Stir in 1/2 c. milk.
    Dough should slide from spoon.
    Add more milk if necessary. Drop by Tbsp. (not touching) over blueberries.
    Simmer 15-20 minutes. To serve, spoon dumplings into bowls. Top with blueberries. Serve plain or with whipped cream.
