Plum Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. dates (optional)
    1 apple, peeled and chopped
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix the ingredients all together; then stiffen with flour.
    Put pudding in coffee cans after cans are greased and floured.
    Cover cans; then place in roasting pan half full of water and put in oven at 250\u00b0.
    Steam for 3 hours.
    Makes two 1 pound puddings.
