Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 large eggs
1 Tbsp. milk
3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
green and red sugar sprinkles (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add eggs and milk; beat well.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a small mixing bowl. Gradually add to creamed mixture, stirring well after each addition.
Shape dough into a ball.
Wrap in waxed paper and chill at least 30 minutes.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Flatten with palm of hand.
Sprinkle with sugar; bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
Yields 6 dozen.
