Shrimp Scampi New York Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. shrimp
    3/4 lb. butter
    4 to 6 lemon wedges
    6 to 8 cloves garlic, sliced or chopped
    5 to 6 Tbsp. cooking sherry
    salt
Preparation
    Butterfly shrimp (cut larger portion about 3/4 through) and boil in water until cooked (do not overcook).
    Heat the butter and wine and saute the garlic until golden.
    Add salt sparingly.
    Put shrimp in mixture, add lemon wedges and cook 5 to 10 minutes on medium heat.
    Serve hot.
