Little Ruthie'S Queen Ann Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Mix the chopped dates, boiling water and baking soda; let stand.
Cream together the sugar, butter and egg.
Add the vanilla and salt.
Sift together the flour and baking powder.
Alternate mixtures with sugar and butter mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 30 minutes in an 11 x 7-inch pan or 11 x 9-inch pan.
