Gingerbread Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. flour
    1 c. molasses
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. white sugar
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 c. shortening
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Stir molasses into sugar mixture.
    Sift flour, baking soda, salt and ginger together.
    Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture until blended.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    On lightly floured surface, roll 1/4 of dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
    Cut dough into desired shapes.
    Place 1/2-inch apart on cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 minutes or until crisp and light brown.
    Cool slightly and remove from rack.
