Mongolian Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef flank or boneless sirloin steak
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    dash of white pepper
    1 green onion (with tops)
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. finely chopped ginger root
    1 tsp. finely chopped garlic
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Trim fat from beef steak.
    Cut strips into 1/8-inch slices. Toss beef, the cornstarch, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, salt, sugar, 1 teaspoon soy sauce and white pepper in medium glass or plastic bowl.
    Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
    Cut green onion into 2-inch pieces.
