Westville Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. plain flour
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. ginger
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. sugar cane syrup
    1/4 lb. butter
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Beat
    the
    eggs,
    sugar and butter.
    Add syrup and stir. Sift dry
    ingredients together and add to the mixture.
    Add the boiling water
    last.
    Bake
    at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
    Test for doneness; it should spring back from your finger.
