Gumdrop Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
4 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. hot water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. white raisins
1 1/2 lb. gumdrops (small size)
1/2 lb. nutmeats
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and applesauce and beat together. Sift dry ingredients together. Mix soda with water. Add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Fold in raisins, gumdrops and nuts. Bake in 3 greased loaf pans (4 x 18-inch) for 2 1/2 to 3 hours in slow oven (250\u00b0).
