Apple Knobby Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. finely diced apples
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg, salt
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add apples, nuts and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes in an 8-inch square pan.
    Serve with whipped cream or lemon sauce.
