Cornmeal Mush - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. water
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. cold water
Preparation
    Heat to boiling 3 cups water in saucepan.
    (I use a small iron kettle.)
    Mix cornmeal, salt and 1 cup cold water.
    Pour into boiling water, stirring constantly.
    Cook until thickened, stirring frequently; cover.
    Continue cooking over low heat 10 minutes or longer.
    To make fried mush, pour cooked cornmeal into loaf pan and cool. When cold, cut into 1/2 inch slices.
    Pan fry slowly on lightly greased griddle or skillet until golden brown. Serve hot with syrup or honey.
