Waldorf Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 envelope unflavored gelatine (Knox)
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. water, divided
    1/4 c. vinegar
    2 c. diced tart apples
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix gelatine, sugar and salt thoroughly.
    Add 1/2 cup of the water.
    Place over low heat, stirring constantly, until gelatine is dissolved.
    Remove from heat and stir in remaining 1 cup water and vinegar.
    Chill mixture to unbeaten egg white consistency.
    Fold in apples, chopped celery and chopped nuts.
    Chill until firm; garnish with apples.
