Sausage Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. smoked sausage, cut in 1/4-inch rounds
    1 lb. beef stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
    1 large onion, diced
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 red bell pepper, diced
    2 cans kidney beans
    1 tsp. basil
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1 c. boiling water
    4 medium potatoes, quartered
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cook sausage and beef in 2 tablespoons melted shortening.
    Place in 2-quart casserole dish.
    In large pan, cook onion in oil until transparent.
    Add peppers and cook 1 minute longer.
    Add remaining ingredients and mix lightly, then pour over meat.
    Cover and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
