Mary Ann'S Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. popped corn
    1 c. peanuts
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    2/3 c. dark corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 250\u00b0.
    In a large shallow aluminum pan, spread the popcorn and nuts.
    In saucepan, stir together the sugar, butter and corn syrup until all is melted.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring until the mixture comes to a boil.
    Continue cooking for 5 more minutes, without stirring.
    Remove from the heat.
    Add the vanilla extract and the baking soda.
    Pour this mixture over the popcorn and peanuts in the pan, stirring it around to coat and distribute the coating.
    Bake in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally, for 1/2 hour.
    After the mix is done, pour it out on waxed paper and cool.
    Serve warm or cold.
