Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

25 medium cucumbers or zucchini
10 medium onions
1/2 c. plain salt
1 pt. vinegar
1 c. sugar
1 c. honey
3 tsp. mustard seed
3 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation

Arrange cucumbers and onions which have been sliced medium thick, in layers.
Sprinkle salt between each layer.
Allow to stand 3 or 4 hours or overnight in refrigerator.
Drain; combine remaining ingredients.
Bring slowly to boiling.
Add drained onions and cucumbers and cook for 5 minutes.
Pack in hot pint jars.
Yields 10 pints.
