Virginia Cornbread(Shared By Mary Crump) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    3/4 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening, melted
    1 egg, beaten slightly
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add milk and shortening.
    Add egg and beat.
    Spoon into greased iron skillet or iron muffin rings, that is preheated.
    Bake 20 minutes in 400\u00b0 oven.
