Rice And Green Chilies Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rice
    1 lump butter
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 can green chilies, chopped
    2 c. or more sour cream
    1/2 lb. Monterey Jack cheese
    2 Tbsp. butter
    grated sharp cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Cook rice until just tender.
    Add butter, salt and pepper.
    Mix chilies with sour cream.
    Cut cheese into strips.
    Butter casserole and alternate layers of well-seasoned rice, sour cream with chilies and cheese.
    Salt and pepper each layer.
    Repeat until all ingredients are used.
    Top layer should be sour cream.
