Tomato Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. tomatoes
    1 lemon
    sugar
Preparation
    Peel and core tomatoes.
    Squeeze out all liquid.
    Cut into quarters and then cut again.
    Cook for 30 minutes.
    Measure the cooked tomatoes and add equal part sugar as you have cooked tomatoes.
    Add the lemon, sliced real thin.
    Simmer until thick; stirring constantly.
    Pour hot mixture into jars and seal.
    Makes about 6 pints.
