Silver Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    3 c. flour, sifted
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    4 egg whites, beaten
Preparation
    Cream butter until light, adding sugar; gradually add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla, beating well after each addition.
    Gently fold in egg whites.
    Bake in 2 layer pans at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    When cool, fill and frost as desired.
