Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (I use butter)
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs (unbeaten)
    1 1/4 c. plain flour, sifted with 1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 c. old fashioned oats (not quick cooking kind)
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Put shortening, sugars, vanilla and eggs in mixing bowl.
    Beat thoroughly.
    Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon.
    Add to bowl.
    Stir in nuts and oats.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
    Cool 2 minutes before removing to cooling racks.
    Bake only until golden or will dry out. Makes 5 dozen plus.
