Ingredients

6 Tbsp. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. boiling water
3 eggs
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Melt butter and add brown sugar.
Bring to boil; stir in water, stirring constantly.
Mix together cornstarch, flour, salt and milk.
Pour in butter and brown sugar mixture.
Bring to a boil.
Remove and add 3 beaten egg yolks.
Boil for 2 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Pour in baked pie shell.
Cover with beaten egg whites.
Bake until top is brown.
