Meat Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. tomato juice, divided
    3/4 c. oats (uncooked)
    1 egg
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    6 slices onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine all ingredients except beef, 1 cup tomato juice and onion slices.
    Mix well.
    Add beef; mix lightly, but thoroughly.
    Press into an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan.
    Pour 1/4 cup tomato juice over top, then lay slices of onion on top, then pour rest of tomato juice over all.
    Bake 1 hour.
