Mary Beth'S Mother'S Pasta E Fagioli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 to 3/4 lb. pea beans (navy beans)
    1 to 2 cloves garlic
    olive oil
    1 to 2 cans tomato paste
    salt, pepper, basil, parsley and fennel (optional)
    spaghetti or pasta
Preparation
    Soak pea beans overnight.
    Cook until tender, adding water as needed.
    (If you cannot soak the beans overnight, add additional cooking time.)
