Cornsticks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 c. corn meal
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. melted shortening or cooking oil
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients.
Add egg, milk and shortening.
Stir until blended.
Do not overmix.
Mix only enough to dampen dry ingredients.
Heat greased cornstick pans.
Pour in batter.
Bake in preheated very hot oven (450\u00b0) for about 20 minutes.
Yield:
8 large cornsticks.
