Swedish Meatballs - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1 c. half and half
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. lean ground pork
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
2 c. beef broth
1/4 c. minced fresh parsley
1/2 tsp. each ground ginger, allspice and nutmeg
Preparation

In large bowl, soak bread crumbs for 10 minutes. Melt 1 Tbsp. butter in large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion until soft. Stir onion into bread crumbs. Add beef, pork, egg, parsley, salt and spices. Beat at high speed with electric mixer until mixture is fluffy. Use 2 cold, wet teaspoons to shape mixture into tiny meatballs. Melt 2 Tbsp. butter in same skillet. Brown meatballs, turning to brown all sides evenly. Drain on paper towels. Stir flour into drippings in skillet. Add meatballs to sauce. Simmer 15 minutes. Makes 48 meatballs.
