Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chuck steak (approximately 2 inches thick)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. flour
    1 onion, sliced
    1/2 diced green pepper
    1 1/2 c. tomato juice
    1 small can mushrooms
Preparation
    Mix salt, pepper and flour, pounding this into chuck steak. Brown steak in fat.
    Slice onion over steak.
    Add green pepper and 1 1/2 cups tomato juice.
    Cook slowly for approximately 2 hours. Twenty minutes before steak is done, add mushrooms.
    Serves 5.
