Zimtsterne(Cinnamon Stars) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 egg whites, at room temperature (use large eggs)
1 lb. plus 3 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 lb. plus 3 Tbsp. ground pecans
1 tsp. white vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Whip egg whites with electric beater, starting at low speed. Add cream of tartar and sugar.
Beat until peaks (soft) are formed. Beat 15 minutes at medium speed.
Put one cup mixture aside; this will be used for glaze.
Fold in ground pecans with a wooden spoon. Heat oven to 275\u00b0.
Bake on cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Drop by teaspoon on paper.
Use reserved egg whites as a glaze. Garnish with a 1/2 pecan or Hug candy or can be left plain.
Bake 20 minutes.
Glaze should be light brown, but soft.
Slide paper on a table which has been moistened with water.
Lift cookies gently with spatula.
