Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
3 Tbsp. self-rising flour
1 Tbsp. finely chopped onions
1 egg
1 c. milk or water

Preparation

Combine corn meal, flour, onions and egg.
Gradually beat in milk or water.
Drop from a spoon into hot fat where fish was fried.
Fry until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Spread with butter and serve hot with fish.
Makes about 16 small hush puppies.
