Green Beans With Mushroom-Onion Topping - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. green beans
    2 medium onions, sliced
    water (salt)
    1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 green onions
    1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs
    1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
Preparation
    Prepare the beans for cooking.
    Peel and slice the onions. Boil or steam the beans and onions for about 7 minutes in salted water. Drain. Reserve cooking liquid for soup or sauce.
