Poultry Stuffings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or margarine (1/4 lb. plus 4 Tbsp.)
    3 large onions, chopped
    1 1/2 tsp. marjoram leaves
    3/4 tsp. each: pepper, ground sage and thyme leaves
    12 c. day old whole wheat or white bread or a combination of the two, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
    2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped parsley
    salt
Preparation
    Melt 1/2 cup of the butter in a wide frying pan over medium heat.
    Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden (about 15 minutes).
    Add remaining 4 tablespoons butter, marjoram, pepper, sage and thyme.
    Remove from heat.
