Pickled Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. red wine vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    2 cloves
    5 peppercorns
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 small bay leaf
    1 lb. small fresh mushrooms (canned buttons are okay, too)
Preparation
    In a saucepan, combine all except the mushrooms.
    Bring to a boil and add the mushrooms.
    Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes; cool to room temperature.
    Transfer to a glass jar and cover tightly. Refrigerate 7 days before using.
