Ritz Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    14 Ritz crackers, crushed fine
    2/3 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 pt. heavy cream
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    grated German sweet chocolate (optional)
    strawberries (optional)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites with sugar, baking powder and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
    Fold in crackers and walnuts.
    Put in a greased 9-inch pie plate.
    Place in 375\u00b0 preheated oven; turn heat to 350\u00b0 and bake for 30 minutes.
    Cool.
    Whip heavy cream with a little vanilla and spread on pie.
    If desired, grate German sweet chocolate on top.
    You may also slice fresh strawberries on top of pie and then cover with whipped cream.
    Serves 8.
