Mom'S Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Navy beans
    1 onion, diced
    1 carrot, diced
    1 ham bone, 1/4 lb. salt pork (diced), or 1/4 to 1/2 Lb. daisy ham (diced)
    1 can tomato soup
    Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Preparation
    Sort through beans and remove any foreign material.
    Wash beans in strainer, rinsing several times.
    Put in 3 qt. saucepan and add 4 c. of water.
    Put a lid on pan and let beans soak overnight. Remove any floaters.
    Add water as needed until it covers beans by about 1 inch.
    Add ingredients.
    Gently stir to mix.
    Bring to a low boil and simmer with lid on for 2-3 hours, or until beans are soft.
