Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. liquid shortening
    2 1/4 c. light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    6 oz. chocolate bits
Preparation
    Beat eggs, add brown sugar and shortening.
    Mix well.
    Sift in dry ingredients. Stir until well blended.
    Add walnuts and chocolate bits.
    Mix well.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25-30 minutes.
