Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
2 egg whites
2 3/4 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream margarine; add sugar gradually.
Add egg whites; blend well.
Sift flour with salt.
Combine buttermilk, soda and vanilla.
Add flour mixture and buttermilk mixture alternately to sugar mixture. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done (about 35 minutes in 9 x 12-inch pan).
