A Perfect Pie Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour (lightly spooned into cups)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. solid vegetable shortening (don't use lard, margarine is better)
    1 Tbsp. vinegar (either white or cider)
    1 large egg
Preparation
    Put first 3 ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with a fork.
    Add shortening and mix well with fork until crumbly.
    In a small bowl, beat 1/2 cup water, vinegar and egg with a fork. Combine the two mixtures, stirring until all ingredients are moist.
    Divide dough in 5 portions and shape each portion in a flat round patty ready for rolling.
