Elaine Hurst Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. maple or vanilla
Preparation
    Pour 1/2 cup boiling water over 1 cup oats and 1/2 cup margarine.
    Let stand 20 minutes.
    Combine the rest of the ingredients.
    Add oat mixture.
    Mix and bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
