Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening, oil or butter
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. sauerkraut, drained and chopped
Preparation
    Cream sugar and oil until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs; beat thoroughly.
    Blend in cocoa and vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Stir in kraut until all mixed.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 12-inch cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
