Do-Ahead Beef Dinner Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1 1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    2 to 3 tsp. chili powder
    2 c. seasoned mashed potatoes
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 can drained peas
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Brown ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper, stirring until vegetables are tender.
    Pour off drippings; stir in soup, tomato sauce, garlic, chili powder, salt and pepper.
    Pour into ungreased 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
    Cover and refrigerate (overnight, if desired).
    To bake, place casserole in cold oven. Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes in moderate oven (350\u00b0).
    Spoon potatoes around edge.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake 10 minutes more.
