Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine, softened
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Toasted Coconut Topping
Preparation

Cream margarine; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Beat egg yolks.
Add to creamed mixture.
Beat well.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir in vanilla.
Beat egg whites until stiff and peaks form. Fold in batter.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
Spread Toasted Coconut Topping over cake.
Broil 2 to 3 minutes.
Cool; cut in squares.
