Holiday Hideways - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. butter Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
48 maraschino cherries, drained on paper towel
1 lb. chocolate melts (for coating cookies)
Preparation

Cream Crisco, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
Place dough in very thin layer around drained cherries.
Place 2 tablespoons apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Cool on cookie sheet one minute.
Dip cookies in melted chocolate.
Place on wax paper to cool.
Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.
