Round Steak Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak (1/2-inch thick)
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 envelope brown gravy mix
    1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
    2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1 bay leaf
    1 pkg. egg noodles, prepared by pkg. directions
Preparation
    Cut meat in 1-inch squares. Brown meat in a tablespoon of hot shortening. Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in onion, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, ginger and bay leaf with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Add meat. Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole; cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours. Remove bay leaf. Serve over hot buttered egg noodles.
