Smoked Sausage Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. smoked sausage
    2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
    2 (13 oz.) cans diced tomatoes
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    4 potatoes, diced
Preparation
    Cut sausage into bite sized pieces and brown in stew pot. Add beans, tomatoes, onion, green pepper and potatoes.
    Cover with water and season to taste.
    Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for one hour or until potatoes are tender.
    If thicker soup is desired, add tablespoons of instant mashed potatoes until desired consistency.
