Night Before French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 slices French or Italian bread
    8 large eggs
    3 c. milk
    4 tsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. butter, cut in small pieces
Preparation
    Butter a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Arrange bread slices in one layer in bottom of pan.
    In a large bowl, beat eggs with remaining ingredients except butter.
    When mixed thoroughly, pour over bread in pan.
    Cover and refrigerate 4 to 36 hours.
    Dot with the butter.
    Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes until bread is puffy and slightly browned.
    Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
    Serves 8.
