Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices stale bread
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Tear bread slices into small pieces and place in buttered casserole dish.
    Mix together eggs, milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon and vanilla.
    Pour over bread and stir with a fork until ingredients are smoothly blended.
    Set baking dish in a pan of hot water.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    If you wish, you may add 1/2 cup raisins before baking or place 2 slices apples on top and sprinkle with a little sugar and cinnamon before baking.
