Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    5 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cut butter in flour, sugar, soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
    After cutting in, add beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla flavoring.
    Chill if you like.
    Roll out on floured board and use a number 3 cutter, such as a glass, measuring 3-inches across.
    Bake until brown on top in a 450\u00b0 oven, about 8 minutes.
    Yields 6 to 8 dozen.
